Counselor In Training, Ages 16-17

Ages 16-17  (State of MD Camp law regulates that CITs must be 16 years of age minimum).

This program is designed to equip youth ages 16 and 17 to take an active role in volunteer leadership at West River.  This program will also serve as the first step on a path toward potential future summer employment.  CITs will spend time training with current staff and then put their skills into practice as they help that week with younger campers.  Successful completion of the program would allow for further volunteer weeks during the summer, preferably a minimum of two weeks during the summer.

The process to become a CIT at West River involves filling out this application and then having an interview with our year round staff. If selected after application and interview, a code for registration will be given to sign up for the training over the summer.
